52. The Killers' "Shadowplay" (orig. Joy Division) should definitely have made the list. Plus Tony Tribe's ska/rocksteady version of "Red, Red Wine" (Neil Diamond) - much better than the ub40 version.
And -
Madness by Madness (orig. Prince Buster)

53. You could probably do a top 100 of the best Dylan covers alone (Jimi's "Watchtower" and GnR's "Knockin" being just two of the best). But most of you are probably too young to remember Cream breaking open the jam scene and changing rock music with "Crossroads", an old Robert Johnson tune.

54. You left off "with a little help from my friends" from Joe cocker? Watch the version on the Woodstock movie. Greatest rock cover ever. end of story.

57. Alot of great covers missing, but "Hurt" definitely deserves spot. I never listen to country and I am a mild fan of NIN, but I like Cash's version more than the original :P

60. Jeff Buckley "Hallelujah" should certainly have made the list. Also, I really like Cat Steven's version of "Mr. Bojangles" -- it seems as if CS never gets the accolades that he derserves.

61. Seether's Careless Whisper and Alien Ant Farm's Smooth Criminal are both amazing songs. I like the covers a lot more than the originals on both of them.

62. Sure, it's a top 10 list if you want to ignore most of the last 50 years in favor of the last decade or so. So mant great covers throughout the history of rock and pop.

64. VAN HALEN"S COVER OF THE KINKS" "You Really Got Me"
This song turned the music world on it's ass and ushered in the revival of hard Rock n' Roll, and Chnaged the way people looked at the guitar.
HOW COULD YOU HAVE MISSED THIS?

67. I never knew that Blinded By The Light by Manfred Mann's Earth Band was a remake. One of the best songs of the 70s.
I'm glad Turn The Page made the top 3. I think Metallica's version is 10 times better. The song has more energy and the music video was great.
I also liked Joey Ramone's remake of What A Wonderful World. That song was underrated, IMO.

69. you forgot a few songs... first is Tool, who did Led Zeppelin's "No Quarter" it's hard for me to say that ANYONE can do a Zep song better than them, but Tool somehow did it. Matt Wendel did "Hey Ya" by Outkast; Shinedowns "Simple Man"; HIM did an acoustic version of "Don't Fear the Reaper"; and The Frey's version of "Heartless" were ALL great covers

51. Seether's cover is absolutely awesome. When they played the Co-lab in '06 with Metallica they did a short version of "Sad but true" and "Walk" from Pentura. To those who oppose Metallica and Seether...tisk tisk...Metallica are hall of Famers and could have a top 10 cover of their own, and i am a Proudly South Africa supporter of our man Shaun "Morgan" Welgemoed. They keep the "metal" going.
