John Hughes Tribute - Movie Songs

Anyone who has gone through teen angst during the course of the past 20 years must surely be able to identify with a character from any one of filmmaker John Hughes' many movies. Hughes wrote and directed some of the '80s most memorable flicks, including 'The Breakfast Club,' 'Pretty in Pink,' 'Sixteen Candles' and 'Ferris Bueller's Day Off.' He also scripted movies for other directors including 'Home Alone,' 'Beethoven,' 'National Lampoon's Vacation,' 'National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation' and other classics. Hughes passed away today at the age of 59 but his work will unquestionably live on.

In addition to unforgettable characters and witty dialogue, Hughes' films often had memorable music moments as well. Who can forget Simple Minds playing at the end of 'The Breakfast Club' or Yello's 'Oh Yeah' during 'Ferris Bueller's Day Off'? As a tribute to Hughes and his body of work, we will be playing a song from a Hughes film every 30 minutes on the Movie Tracks station. Click on the link below to check it out.
