10 Best Break Up Songs

52. 'Goodbye my Lover' James Blunt
Gut wrenching.

53. My #1 is ''Say hello, wave goodbye '' by Soft Cell from 1981. It goes straight to the heart like a knife. The 12'' version makes this song even more majestic and surreal. It grabs you and sucks you in. My #1 from the '80's.

68. To my mind, a good break-up song is one that gives you the backbone to get up and move on... not songs that lead you to wallow in your misery! There are "lots of good fish in the sea." Although I'm not a big fan of country, I love the one Jo Dee Messina sings: "Bye, bye, love I'll catch you later, got a lead foot down on my accelerator, got my rear view mirror torn off, I ain't never looking back and that's a fact! I tried all I could imagine. I begged and pleaded in true lover's fashion. I got pride: I'm taking it for a ride. Bye, bye, love... bye-bye my baby, bye, bye!" Onward!

But, even though I am not upset, or SHOCKED, that the followingsong is not on the list; I still submit it for a candidate.
"NOBODY KNOWS", The Tony Rich Project.
