Taylor Swift songs have been climbing the charts ever since the then 16-year-old released her self-titled debut album. The singer/songwriter is adored by everyone from teens to adults across the globe, even winning the hearts of 'New York Times' critics, who describe Swift as "one of pop's finest songwriters, country's foremost pragmatist and more in touch with her inner life than most adults."

'Should've Said No'

Written at 16 years old, 'Should've Said No' is a suggestion to an ex-boyfriend of Taylor's who cheated on her. She claims the lyrics from the song come exactly from the confrontation she had with her then-boyfriend.

'Fifteen'

Swift performed 'Fifteen' at the 51st Grammy Awards as a duet with another teen sensation, Miley Cyrus, who was fifteen years old at the time.

'White Horse'

The first music video ever to debut at No. 1 on CMT's Top Twenty Countdown, 'White Horse' tells the story of a fairy tale romance gone wrong.

'Tim McGraw'

Written during a math class in high school, this Taylor Swift song is about a boyfriend who was moving away to college. Swift knew they eventually were going to break up and wrote the song thinking of things that reminded her of him, including: country superstar Tim McGraw.

'Change'

Our No. 6 Taylor Swift song was written as part of the compilation album 'AT&T Team USA Soundtrack' for the Olympics. Swift was quoted as saying that the song has "an alternative meaning for competition...make it or break it."

'Teardrops On My Guitar'

Written by Swift and her songwriting partner Liz Rose, 'Teardrops on My Guitar' went on to be the first song since Faith Hill's 'Breathe' to be in the Top Five on the Billboard Hot 100 and Hot Country Songs charts simultaneously.

'You Belong With Me'

The subject of this Taylor Swift song was about Swift's high school crush named Drew -- who considered a her a friend although she wanted more.

'Our Song'

Swift's first No. 1 single on the country charts, this song made her the youngest artist to write a No. 1 country song. She had originally written it for her ninth-grade talent show.

'Picture to Burn'

This song's lyrics describe Swift's anger toward an ex-boyfriend who she describes as "just another picture to burn."

'Love Story'

A story of fairy tale romance, this Taylor Swift song became not only the most-downloaded country track in history, but the best-selling country song in the U.S. -- surpassing LeAnn Rimes' 'How Do I Live?' by one million copies sold.
