'You Run Away' is the Barenaked Ladies' first single from their forthcoming album 'All in Good Time.' Written by lead singer Ed Robertson, the sentimental song strays from the group's jovial, uptempo pop/alt tunes, as Robertson sings about reaching out to a friend in need who's rejected his help. Hmmm, could the single be referencing former singer/guitarist Steven Page, who left the band last February? With a build-up of percussion and preeminent harmonies, the piano-laced ballad shows no hard feelings: "I tried to be your brother / You cried and ran for cover / I made a mess, who doesn't / I did my best but it wasn't enough."
