'Better Than I Used to Be' is the title track off Sammy Kershaw's forthcoming studio album. In the song, Kershaw sings about how far he has come from the troubled man he once was, with high hopes and promises of becoming even better: "I can finally stand the man in the mirror I see / I ain't as good as I'm gonna get / but I'm better than I used to be." The 11-track album includes producer/songwriter Buddy Cannon (who has collaborated with Kenny Chesney, Craig Morgan, Hank Jr., and George Jones) and songwriters Brian Simpson and Ashley Gorley (who previously worked with Brad Paisley, Keith Urban, Trace Adkins, and Darius Rucker).
