'American VI: Ain't No Grave' is the last of Johnny Cash's American Recordings album series (which began in 1994), all produced by acclaimed record producer Rick Rubin. The 10-track album -- featuring covers and previously unreleased material -- reveal a humble, personable side of Cash whose recordings were all done within in a year of his death in September 2003.
Highlights include covers of Kris Kristofferson's 'For the Good Times,' Sheryl Crow's 'Redemption' and Bob Nolan's 'Cool Water,' as well as a previously unheard original track 'I Corinthians: 15:55,' which Cash wrote within the last three years of his life. 'Ain't No Grave' features guitarist Mike Campbell, organist Benmont Tench and The Avett Brothers Scott and Seth playing the banjo and footsteps.
The album will be released Feb. 23, just three days shy of Johnny Cash's 78th birthday. Go to AOL Radio's Adult Rock station to hear selection of tracks from the album.
