'Who I Was Born to Be' is Susan Boyle's only original composition off her November-released debut 'I Dreamed a Dream.' Composed by a slew of writers: Audra Mae, Mark Linn-Baker, Johan Fransson, Tobias Lundgren, and Tim Larsson, the piano-driven ballad is about how she finally achieved her dream. Although humbled, the former 'Britain's Got Talent' runner-up sings with confidence and satisfaction, which can be heard in her voice as well as the lyrics: "I can finally say I am free / And if the questions led me here, then / I am who I was born to be."
According to Nielsen Soundscan, 'I Dreamed a Dream' was 2009's top selling album released last year with 3,104,000 copies sold. (Swift's 'Fearless' sold 3,217,000 but was actually released in November of 2008.) To hear Boyle's new single, tune into AOL Radio's Classical Crossover station.
