New Johnny Cash Album Debuts at No.3 on Billboard

Johnny Cash American VI Ain't No GraveJohnny Cash's 'American VI: Ain't No Grave,' debuts this week on the Billboard 200 at No. 3 with 54,000 copies sold, according to Nielsen SoundScan. This album is the last of Johnny Cash's American Recordings album series (which began in 1994), all helmed by acclaimed record producer Rick Rubin. The 10-track album features covers (Kris Kristofferson's 'For the Good Times,' Sheryl Crow's 'Redemption' and Bob Nolan's 'Cool Water,') as well as previously unreleased material (such as original track 'I Corinthians: 15:55,' which Cash wrote within the last three years of his life). Cash's previous album and fourth installment 2006's 'American V: A Hundred Highways' debuted at No. 1 with 88,000 copies sold.

Sade
's 'Soldier of Love' retains the No. 1 position in its third week on the Billboard 200, selling 127,000 copies. And the runner-up is no different from last week either, still claimed by Lady Antebellum's 'Need You Now,' which brought in 118,000 copies. The trio just earned a whopping seven ACM (Academy of Country Music Awards) nominations, announced yesterday, with several nods for their chart-topping country pop crossover single 'Need You Now.'

Trailing behind in the top 10 rock alt Alkaline Trio's 'This Addiction,' which debuted at No. 11 with 26,000 copies sold. This marks the second top 20 album for the group -- and its highest charting set: the band's previous release 2008's 'Agony and Irony' debuted at No. 13 with 36,000.

Kesha's 'Animal' and Justin Bieber's 'My World' made it into the top 10 again, reaching No. 7 with 32,000 and No. 10 with 26,000, respectively. According to Billboard, Kesha's 7% percent increase is likely a result of Best Buy's $7.99 deal last week. Downshifters on the chart (by one position) are Black Eyed Peas' 'The E.N.D.' at No. 4 (50,000), Lady GaGa's 'The Fame' at No. 5 (48,000) and Lil Wayne's 'Rebirth' at No. 6 (37,000). Susan Boyle's 'I Dreamed a Dream' stays in the top 10 in its 14th week with 30,000 copies sold, as well as Taylor Swift's 'Fearless,' shifting up one spot to No. 9 with 28,000 and making it Swift's 68th week on the Billboard 200.
