'Over' is Drake's first single off his upcoming debut album 'Thank Me Later,' slated for a May release. The Boi-1da-produced track has Drake reflecting on his life in the limelight since the accelerated buzz of his several mixtapes and successful 2009 EP 'So Far Gone': "What am I doing? What am I doing? / Oh yea, that's right I'm doing me, I'm doing me, I'm living life right now, man / And this what I'mma do 'till its over, 'till its over / But it's far from over." The track switches between elements of old-school R&B string-melodies in the verses and marching band back beats in the chorus.
Drake debuted the song yesterday on Toronto's radio station 93.5 The Flow. "I went with 'Over' as the first look [or single] because of the words in the hook," Drake told the radio-show hosts Jus Red and Jwyze, which are: "I know way too many people here right now that I didn't know last year."
