'The Last Song' Soundtrack -- New Album

The Last Song Original Soundtrack

'The Last Song' soundtrack coincides with the forthcoming featured film, based on a novel by acclaimed author Nicholas Sparks. The film stars Miley Cyrus -- an ambitious 17-year-old musician who struggles to rekindle her talent and reconnect with her estranged father. (Author Sparks even adds in an interview that the screenplay was written with her mind.)

Miley's 'When I Look at You' was picked as the soundtrack's lead single (originally featured on her 2009 Wal-Mart exclusive EP 'The Time of Our Lives') which captures the pivotal point in the film when Miley's character, Ronnie, falls in love. Her other track 'I Hope You Find It' may be the song Rob Thomas penned, as requested by the film's producer (and Thomas' friend) Adam Shankman.

The soundtrack, however, not only boasts the two previously mentioned singles by Miley, but also includes pre-released hits by OneRepublic, Maroon 5 and Edwin McCain, as well as indie artists such as Swedish folk indie singer-songwriter José González and Austin-based indie band Alpha Rev. The latter include their new song 'New Morning,' which is also the title track to their international debut release, dropping this April.

'The Last Song,' including co-stars Kelly Preston and Greg Kinnear, is slated for an Apr. 2 theater release. Check out the track listing below and tune into AOL Radio's New Pop First Station to hear a pop guitar remix of the title track 'When I Look at You.'
