'As We Enter' is the debut single off Nas & Damian "Jr. Gong" Marley's collaboration album 'Distant Relatives.' Fusing reggae with hip-hip, the new single features jumpy electronic back beats over heavy drums and spliced trumpets, as the duo trade off delivering lines in between the chorus line ("Hey, Hey, Hey"): "[Damian Marley] Masuri Sana / Switch up the language and move to Ghana / [Nas] Salute and honor, real revolution rhymers / [Damian Marley] Rhythm piranhas / [Nas] Like true Obamas, unfold the drama."
'Distant Relatives,' projected to release May 25, is a project Nas and Damian hope will build humanitarian awareness across the globe by sharing the connection between reggae music, hip-hop and Africa. The project transpired after their successful collaboration on the 2005 track 'Road to Zion' off Damian's album 'Welcome to Jamrock.'
