Christina Aguilera -- 2010 New Album Preview

Christina AguileraChristina Aguilera, one of the iconic pop divas from the late 1990s, is set to make her mark on yet another decade, with a brand new 2010 album on the way. Titled 'Bionic,' Aguilera's fourth studio album is scheduled for official release on June 8, and will be her long awaited follow-up to her 'Back to Basics' record, which was released on August 15, 2006.

The singer began work on her new album back in February 2008, from the comfort of her own Beverly Hills home studio, and all indicators point to a star-studded record. According to Aguilera's site, her new 2010 album will feature contributions and collaborations from an all-star ensemble that includes DJ Premier, Goldfrapp, Sia, Le Tigre, Ladytron, Hill & Switch, Tricky Stewart and Polow Da Don, among others.

According to the five-time Grammy Award-winning Aguilera, the sound of the new album will be characterized by what she calls a "fresh, sexy feel," featuring "both electronic and organic elements with subject matter ranging from playful to introspective." The title 'Bionic,' in fact, is meant as an allusion to the singer's famously wide vocal range, and, according to her site, reflects her "ability to take her range to new levels and use her voice in various ways never heard before."

The album's first single, 'Not Myself Tonight,' will be officially released on March 30, and will undoubtedly be making its way around radio air waves around April 5 (or sooner). Anticipation, understandably, is running high, and Aguilera seems confident that the album won't disappoint. "I am so excited for my fans to hear the new sound," she says. "It is something I don't think anyone will expect."
