'Free' is the fifth single off Zac Brown Band's debut 2008 album 'The Foundation.' Like 'Highway 20 Ride,' 'Free' evokes sentimental refrains, but with a plucky guitar intro reminiscent to Phil Wickham's 'Divine Romance,' as Zac Brown sings over a raw, more acoustic-sounding track about being in love: "Lay underneath the Georgia moon / Do all the things that lovers do / Just me and you."
'Free' follows the band's four previously released singles ('Chicken Fried,' 'Toes,' 'Whatever It Is' and 'Highway 20 Ride'), which all peaked within the top 10 of the Billboard country charts. All the tracks are featured on their critically-acclaimed effort 'The Foundation,' which lost to George Strait's 'Troubadour' for Best Country Album earlier this year. However, Brown and his crew did go home with a Best New Artist win. To hear the new single, go to AOL Radio's New Country First station.
