This May, Sarah Jessica Parker and her posse are returning to the big screen, for 'Sex and the City 2.' And, of course, the sequel will be accompanied by a star-studded new 2010 soundtrack. Filling the spacious shoes of 'Sex and the City''s soundtrack won't be easy, though. The original debuted at No. 1 on Billboard's soundtrack chart, and No. 2 on Billboard's Top 200 chart. Based on the all-star lineup that's signed on for the 'Sex and the City 2' soundtrack, though, the sequel just may measure up to the high standards set by the original.
The new compilation album features the likes of Grammy and Academy Award winner Jennifer Hudson, Grammy nominee Leona Lewis, and Dido. Also featured on the 'Sex and the City 2' soundtrack is a T-Pain-produced track by Cee-Lo, cuts from Erykah Badu and Alicia Keys, and, perhaps most interestingly, a Liza Minelli cover of the Beyonce song 'Single Ladies (Put A Ring on It).'
The cast members even get in on some of the action, as well; the fab four of Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon all team up for their own rendition of the Helen Reddy classic 'I Am Woman.' Unfortunately, you'll have to wait until May 25 to get your hands on the new 2010 soundtrack, or until May 27 to see the feature film. In the meantime, though, you can check out the official track listing below.
