Sprite's recent commercial features rising hip-hop star Drake getting "the spark" of inspiration from his favorite lemon-lime soft drink while recording his hit single 'Forever.' The full length version of the song features guest appearances by Lil' Wayne, Kayne West and Eminem. It appears on the soundtrack to 'More Than A Game,' the recent film documentary about newly crowned two-time pro basketball MVP LeBron James.Drake, born in Toronto, first became a star on the popular Canadian television series 'Degrassi: The Next Generation,' but in recent years has released a series of high-profile hip-hop mix tapes and singles, including his 2009 EP 'So Far Gone.' Drake's highly anticipated full-length debut album, 'Thank Me Later,' is expected to be released June 15.
The television spot is part of Sprite's new "Spark Music" campaign, named after the drink's new spark-shaped logo. The campaign also features a Facebook application which allows fans to use elements from Drake's music to create and share their own tracks online with fans around the world.
