'Total Eclipse of the Heart' is the newest single from the cast of 'Glee.' Their cover of Bonnie Tyler's No. 1 hit from 1983 was released through iTunes yesterday, May 5th, after appearing in the previous evening's episode of the hit Fox television show. It will also be featured on the album 'Glee - the Music, Vol. 3 - Showstoppers,' which is due on-line and in stores May 18th. The song was written by Jim Steinman and originally intended for use by his famous 'Bat Out of Hell' collaborator, Meat Loaf. Steinman's trademark epic musical scope and lyrical melodrama are brought to life in this version by 'Glee' cast member Lea Michele, with assistance from Jonathan Groff, Mark Salling and Cory Monteith.
