'Ridin' Solo' is the third single off Jason Derülo's eponymous debut album, which was released March 2. Depicting life after a major breakup, the song's underlining melody features electronic motifs similar-sounding to the Verve's 'Bittersweet Symphony.' Ironically, 'Bittersweet''s catchy melody was sampled from The Andrew Oldham Orchestra's rendition of 'The Last Time' -- a 1965 song by the Stones. This wouldn't be the first time Derülo would sample an infectious melody, as his first single 'Whatcha Say' borrows the synth melody from Imogen Heap's 'Hide and Seek.'
'Ridin' Solo''s paired music video debuted May 2 and features scenes of Deürlo's new single life. The song follows his club-ready single 'In My Head.'
