'Sunshine of Your Love' is a new song from the album 'Valleys of Neptune,' a recent critically acclaimed collection of previously unreleased Jimi Hendrix studio recordings. The song is a blazing instrumental cover of the classic Cream single. Hendrix was a huge fan of the psychedelic rock group, and he frequently covered this song in concert. As expected, this seven-minute long, vocalist-free workout gives Hendrix's singular guitar-playing ability plenty of space to shine. However, the dynamic twists and turns the track takes show how important contributions by drummer Mitch Mitchell and bass player Noel Redding were to the success of the Jimi Hendrix Experience.
With Hendrix's family now firmly in control of all of his recorded works, 'Valleys of Neptune' is the first of what's expected to be many collections of previously unreleased Hendrix material. 1. Correction-Cream was NOT an Eric Clapton led supergroup. He was but one of three equally important band members in the supergroup Cream. Each contributed immensely to the unique sound of Cream. Remove any one of them from the band and you no longer have Cream.
