'Love Like Woe' is the first single by The Ready Set, music's newest rising sensation made up of one member, 20-year-old Jordan Witzigreuter. Much like Owl City's Adam Young, Witzigreuter started out writing and recording songs in his family basement. He began by playing the drums at the age of 14 and joined bands as a teenager, but eventually started his own solo project after he turned 16. Last November, The Ready Set signed with Decaydance and Sire Records, both under Warner Bros. Records. The first studio album titled 'I'm Alive, I'm Dreaming' will be released June 15th. The Ready Set has performed on stage with such pop acts as Hey Monday and Boys Like Girls but despite being one-person studio act, Witzigreuter has three friends which join him while performing live in concert.
'Love Like Woe' can be classified as being a mixture of pop, electronica and alternative. The dream-pop sound will evoke comparisons to Owl City but Witzigreuter mixes things up with a little bit of rapping, leading to a more upbeat tune compared to that of Owl City's hits, 'Fireflies' and 'Vanilla Twilight.' Nevertheless, The Ready Set will still win the hearts of the younger crowd with it's cheerful chorus that will be have their fans singing, "She's got a love like woe / Woah-oh, oh-oh, oh-oh / Girl's got a love like woe."
