Cadillac's recent commercial for their new CTS Sport Sedan features the song 'One, Two ... One' from the band Say Hi. The song appears on 'Oohs & Aahs,' the 2009 album from the group, who used to go by the longer name Say Hi to Your Mom. "Go ahead, get started, this'll never last," Eric Elbogen sings over a peppy, hand claps-and-piano rhythm as quick shots of the car in action fly by, "not with the wind in your hair like that!" Elbogen is the main and often sole creative force in the band, which he formed in New York City in 2002. He wrote and recorded a majority of the band's six records, including the entire new album, by himself in his home studio. He claims the band's name came to him in a dream, and that he shortened it a couple of years ago to reflect his changing style.
Say Hi's music seems to be a favorite of the staff at TV's Gossip Girl, who have featured several of the songs from 'Oohs & Aahs' on recent episodes of the show. The band plans to tour America extensively later this fall. Listen to 'One, Two ... One' in the commercial below.
