'Home' is the new single from the Goo Goo Dolls' first album in over four years, 'Something for the Rest of Us,' which is due in stores this July. A prominent drumbeat builds the brooding, mid-tempo song's momentum as lead singer John Rzeznik begs the listener "please take me home." Rzeznik's strong, world-weary voice in this track resembles a more melodic Paul Westerberg from the Replacements. The Buffalo-based band -- known for their 1995 hit 'Name' and 1998's 'Iris,' which opened the floodgates to a series of Top 10 radio singles -- spent over two years working on 'Something for the Rest of Us.' In a YouTube video addressed to their fans, the band explained that they originally thought the upcoming record would be completed earlier in 2010, but then decided that with extra time "we could make it a lot better."
The band is currently on tour, previewing songs off the new album for their fans. To hear 'Home,' go to AOL Radio's Adult Rock Radio Station.
