Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth and Anthrax will team up for a special concert broadcast, 'The Big Four Live,' that will play at movie theatres on June 22, not only in the States but across the world. The four hour, one-time only special will feature concert footage from that same day's show in Sofia, Bulgaria. The teaming of thrash metal's four biggest bands on one stage has been dreamed about for decades by headbangers across the world, and discussed in the press by the artists for the past year or so. So far there are only a handful of European dates scheduled for the tour, which makes this screening the only chance U.S. fans have to catch this bit of music history.
Anthrax guitarist Scott Ian, whose band is reuniting with their classic-era singer Joey Belladonna for the shows, is very excited for the tour: "Damn, as if this Big 4 tour wasn't exciting enough now we get to be on the big screen worldwide! Metal at the movies, two big horns up! It is unbelievably gratifying that this means so much to the metal community around the globe."
