'Hell of a Time' is the new song from hard rock supergroup Hellyeah, and the second track released from their upcoming sophomore album 'Stampede,' due in stores July 13. The band features drummer Vinnie Paul from Pantera along with Chad Gray and Greg Tribbett from Mudvayne, guitarist Tom Maxwell from Nothingface, and Damageplan bassist Bob Zilla.
Bluesy, slide guitar-tinged verses alternate with pummeling choruses as vocalist Chad Gray portrays a working man counting down the days to the weekend: "I got my girl, got my family, got my boots and that's all I need, for a hell of a time." After the fun's over, the cycle starts up again: "Come Monday morning my head is swollen, gotta get it right, got my boss, got my pills and I'm towing the line." Appropriately enough, the song ends with the sound of a can of beer opening.
Hellyeah will share the stage with Avenged Sevenfold, Disturbed, StoneSour, Halestorm and others later this summer on the Rockstar Energy Drink Uproar Festival, which will charge across the country throughout August and September. You can hear 'Hell of a Time' on AOL Radio's New Rock First station.
