A live version of The Clash's classic call to arms 'London Calling' is the first single from Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band's upcoming concert DVD 'London Calling: Live in Hyde Park.' As the staccato riffs of 'London Calling' ring out over a marching drum beat, Bruce spits out the song's lyrics in a raspy but powerful voice: "The ice age is coming / The sun zooming in / Engines stop running / The wheat is growing thin / A nuclear error but I have no fear / 'Cause London is drowning / And I live by the river."
'London Calling: Live in Hyde Park' captures Springsteen's entire June 29, 2008 performance at the Hard Rock Calling music festival in front of 50,000 screaming Londoners. In addition to covering the Clash's rebel anthem, Bruce and the band barrel through a version of Jimmy Cliff's 'Trapped' and several rare fan favorites from their own back catalog, including 'Hard Times (Come Again No More).'
'London Calling: Live in Hyde Park' will be released on June 22. To hear The Boss perform his version of 'London Calling,' check out AOL Radio's Adult Rock station.
