'Mission Statement' is a new song from Stone Sour -- the band founded by Slipknot vocalist Corey Taylor. The track is the first taste of the band's upcoming third album, 'Audio Secrecy.' Over chugging guitars and jackhammer drums, Taylor questions the selfishness he sees around him, and seems to be searching for answers about his role in our culture: "I am in your hands / But I don't mind cause I don't understand / I am in your hands / Won't you all tell me who I am?"
While Stone Sour was in Nashville recording 'Audio Secrecy,' destructive storms and floods ravaged the city. The studio they were working in was spared, but damage to the region was great. "We were lucky, but so many people were not," reports Taylor. "I've been getting the word out to people to contact Nashville Flood Relief if they would like to donate money. Also, they can contact the Gibson Foundation to do the same."
Stone Sour's 'Audio Secrecy' arrives in stores Sept. 7, but you can download 'Mission Statement' on their site, which is free for the next 48 hours!
Additionally, they will tour as part of the Rockstar Energy Uproar Festival this summer, which kicks off Aug. 17. To hear 'Mission Statement,' as well as other new rock hits, go to AOL Radio's New Rock First station.
