Brandon Boyd, 'Runaway Train' -- New Song

Brandon Boyd The Wild Trapeze'Runaway Train' is the debut solo single from Incubus frontman Brandon Boyd's first-ever solo album, 'The Wild Trapeze.' The album is truly an individual project, with Boyd writing every song and playing nearly every instrument on the record.

The song is primarily built on heavy acoustic guitars and tribal drums, with tasteful piano accents. Think back to Alice in Chains' unplugged-but-heavy material, and you'll be in the right ballpark.

Lyrically, Boyd laments that he can't seem to keep himself out of trouble: "The more I try to separate / The better it feels to get right in the way / And I try so hard to get out of the way of that runaway train / Oh, how I do love the rain."

Boyd has a simple take on what the rest of the album sounds like: "A guy in room surrounded by toys who has an undying enthusiasm for finding out what each toy does, and has been given full license to make as much noise as he pleases."

'The Wild Trapeze' is now available for purchase from iTunes. You can check out the video for 'Runaway Train' below:
