Despite the humid, misting conditions, Lady Gaga still had an estimated 20,000 people cram in Rockefeller Plaza today, to watch her perform on the 'Today' show. The set included not only her top-charting hits 'Bad Romance' and 'Alejandro,' but also her track 'Teeth' -- the last track featured on 'The Fame Monster,' but not a single...yet. And for an artist who continually pushes the envelope, there's no doubt the singer-songwriter had some surprises up her sleeve. The singer first opened with a cover of the classic Gershwin jazz standard 'Someone to Watch Over Me,' showcasing her soulful vocals and ability to tackle various music genres.
Later, still in her all-white ensemble including a bra, and (gasp!) pants, Gaga took the stage, sans dancers, performing solo on the piano her new rock ballad 'You and I' off her untitled, upcoming record.
In between her sets, before changing into a black version of her previous outfit, she chatted with the 'Today' hosts, who asked Gaga about the downside of fame: "There are certainly things that are difficult to deal with," Gaga explains. "But the kind of fame that I cherish is the relationship I have with my fans." Check out PopEater watch recaps of her performances.
