Lil Wayne, 'I'm Not a Human Being' -- 2010 New EP Preview

Lil WayneHe may be holed up in jail, but a little time in the slammer hasn't deterred Lil Wayne from working on a brand new EP. That's right, world. Prepare yourself for new music from Weezy.

According to the Boombox, Cortez Bryant, Lil Wayne's co-manager and CEO of the Young Money label, recently revealed the new EP in an interview with Vibe, in which he stated fans should expect the new material to drop sometime in September -- most likely on the rapper's birthday, Sept. 27. Cortez went on to say that the EP, titled 'I'm Not a Human Being,' will be distributed "virally," at first, and will probably be re-packaged for more formal release around Christmas, in the name of "fan appreciation."

The bad news, however, is that fans will still have to wait until Wayne's release from prison before they can grab a copy of his highly-anticipated full-length album, 'Tha Carter IV.' Still, Weezy's new EP should at least tide over many who have been yearning for new material since the release of his seventh album, 'Rebirth,' which came out in February, just before he headed off to serve a one-year sentence in prison.

Although he's been imprisoned for a few months now, Lil Wayne continues to engage with fans and media alike, via his own blog, WeezyThanxYou.com, where his Young Money team writes updates, sells 'Free Weezy' t-shirts, and counts down the days to his ultimate release. It's somewhat remarkable that the rapper could still manage to record new material from behind bars, and although it's unclear what kind of sound we should expect from a newly incarcerated Wayne, it's all but guaranteed to quench the thirst of a fanbase that's been Weezy-less for far too long.
