'Beat Dat Beat (It's Time To)' is 'Jersey Shore' cast member DJ Pauly D's contribution to the hit MTV show's official soundtrack, which is in stores now. Fans of the show know that Pauly made his living pre-show by DJing parties and dance nights, so it was a natural for him to make a contribution to this album.

Actually, the track is less of a song and more of an extended series of bass and synth-heavy grooves. Pauly speak-raps on top of the mix, bragging about his home tanning bed, being the originator of the "Gym, Tan and Laundry" lifestyle, and complaining about unattractive women hitting on him while he's trying to "Beat Dat Beat Up / Beat Dat Beat Up."
