The creatively restless former Led Zeppelin lead singer has assembled an impressive new band under the 'Band of Joy' moniker for the album, including guitarist Buddy Miller and underground Americana solo star Patty Griffin.
The band gives this take on 'Angel Dance' added texture and depth, particularly with the stately, but heavy "whoomph" in the rhythm section.
As is often his way, Plant adds a strong Middle Eastern melody to the song, as he advises the listener to enjoy every day with a proper ending: "And they'll laugh up and down the hall / Don't you go shout when you hear them fall / Let them fly across the wall / Let them cry 'til the morning calls / Little angel dance."
Robert Plant and his new Band of Joy are currently on a frustratingly short tour of America. Hopefully they'll return sometime after the Sept. 14 release of their new album, but in the meantime you can listen to 'Angel Dance' on AOL Radio's Adult Rock station.

This sounds reminiscent of some of the Led Zep III acoustic work and has a hint of the eastern acoustic flavour achieved by Al Stewart on Nostradamus from the Past present and Future album.
Its heavy acoustic, if there is such a thing; pure
