Ridiculous? Maybe. But Aerosmith will be done with the North American leg of their Cocked, Locked, Ready to Rock tour this summer, and currently have no plans to release their unfinished album, leaving room for the lead singer to seek out other endeavours. And with J-Lo's departure from long-time label Sony in February, a position like this -- which would start in January of 2011 -- could be beneficial, career-wise. If the two sign up for the gig, that means the reality talent show will revert to a three-judge lineup, with Randy Jackson as the only original judge when he started back in 2002.
The rumors surfaced shortly after Ellen DeGeneres announced over Twitter yesterday that she was leaving 'American Idol,' followed by news that Kara DioGuardi was handed the pink slip. Former 'Idol' colleagues Simon Cowell and Ryan Seacrest both had nothing but kind words for the talk show host, with Cowell stating to the Hollywood Reporter: "I have huge respect for [Ellen] because she's always been in control of her own destiny."

1. Okay, Jennifer Lopez as the first new judge
on American Idol, I can buy, but Aerosmith's
Steven Tyler? He's been having a hard time
just trying to put together a reunion album
of fresh new material for his group, so if
Steven really wanted the job as a judge,
he'd respond with his trademark cat call.
Why doesn't Ryan Seacrest just come on out
and announce to the world, just who will be
the replacement judges for Simon Cowell
and the recently departed Ellen Degeneres?
