Eric Benet, 'Sometimes I Cry' -- New Song

Eric Benet Sometimes I CryCourtesy of Reprise Records

Eric Benet's new song, 'Sometimes I Cry,' puts heart-wrenching regret in an entirely new, soulful light. Just as the opening bars begin, it becomes clear that the song is strongly rooted in a stylistic tradition -- specifically a '70s R&B/soul sound full of slow-tempo percussion and plucky guitar.

And when the Milwaukee-born singer, songwriter and producer adds his own unique touch to the song's smooth backdrop, it truly takes on a life of its own. Benet may regret having lost a love he can't get back, but you certainly won't regret listening to him sing about it.

'Sometimes I Cry' is the first single off of Eric Benet's fifth studio album, 'Lost in Time,' and an example of the the album's upcoming sound, rooted in R&B soul music from years 1972-1976. 'Lost in Time' isn't expected until September, but you can hear 'Sometimes I Cry,' over at AOL Radio's New R&B First station.
