'Right Above It' features an extremely polished production -- with staccato strings and triumphant horns jostling for position with a clattering, propulsive beat. Meanwhile, Wayne's mostly impressionistic, but always amusing vocals prevail, as he rambles about extreme sports and the cars he owns but never gets to drive.
When the chorus kicks in, it's clear his main point is that he still considers himself king of the mountain: "You know you at the top when only heaven's right above it / We on / It's Young Money, motherf---er / If you ain't runnin' wit it, run from it, motherf---er, all right?"
'I'm Not a Human Being' was recorded shortly before Lil Wayne's recent incarceration, and he's promising to release it for free on the Internet on Sept. 27. In the meantime, you can check out 'Right Above It' on AOL Radio's New Hip-Hop First station.
