Methods of Mayhem, 'Time Bomb' -- New Song

That ticking sound you hear is 'Time Bomb,' the second song released from Methods of Mayhem's new album 'A Public Disservice Announcement.' The band, led by Motley Crue drummer Tommy Lee, recently returned from a 10-year absence with 'Fight Song,' also from the same album.

Unlike 'Fight Song''s non-stop pummeling, 'Time Bomb' quickly reveals to be a more dynamic, radio-friendly track. Staccato, distorted guitar riffs similar to Green Day's 'Brain Stew' kick off the song, while Tommy's vocals sound as though they're coming through broken speakers.

Of course, things take off into more familiar hard-rock territory from there; but subtle electronic touches, an undercurrent of hip-hop beats, and a surprisingly melodic chorus and lead guitar lines keep things interesting.

Lyrically, well, things aren't as cheery as the music would lead you to believe: "They can blow up my head / They can leave me for dead / The world is just a time bomb / Everyone is dead wrong / And all this weight is on my head."

'A Public Disservice Announcement' will be out Sept. 21. Tommy will be performing with Motley Crue on this summer's six-city Ozzfest tour. Be sure to listen to 'Time Bomb' by Methods of Mayhem over on AOL Radio's New Rock First station.
