'Start a Fire' is a new song off Ryan Star's August-released album, '11:59.'
Beginning with a recognizable 'Eye of Tiger' guitar rhythm and a serene, piano melody, 'Start a Fire' breaks into a torrent of pop rock, as Star sings about letting go of inhibition: "Is this love / Or, Just sexual desire / We're gonna start a fire!"
"It really infused a breath of fresh air into the album," Star explains of adding 'Start a Fire' at the last minute. "It's an exciting song. It's unlike any other tune I've ever done and definitely not like any of the songs on '11:59.' I think it's important that it's there because if '11:59' is the blueprint for the rest of my career and the albums I'll ever make, I think it's good that we have a touch of each thing."
The former reality television contestant on the CBS show 'Rock Star: Supernova' spent four years on this heavily-produced effort, helmed by Matchbox Twenty's producer Matt Serletic.

1. I am so excited for "Start a Fire" to hit the radio! The whole album is awesome and, hopefully, this will get more folks exposed to Ryan Star and his talent.
