Lauryn Hill, 'Repercussions' -- New Song

'Repercussions' leaked on the web recently, a new song by Lauryn Hill that could possibly be an old outtake. Evoking a soulful, raw sound reminiscent of 'The Miseducation' LP, Hill effortlessly sings about her life with an astute, cyclical perception -- all over trickling, illuminated piano runs and funky back beats: "Time has moved on a death has grown closer / Surely has blown my mind (blown my mind) / Ain't that a b--- ...the way the world spins around (spins around, spins around, spins around) / Everything, everything, everything that I said and I did / Surely came back around."

And just this week, 'Repercussions' broke the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart, which currently sits at the No. 94 spot. This marks the first time Hill has charted as a solo artist since 1999 with singles from her prestigious neo-soul album 'The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill' -- which has sold over eight million copies since its release in 1998. According to The Boombox, Hill did appear on the charts in 2006, but as a collaboration with Method Man on his track, 'Say.'

Hill has not been entirely out of the spotlight this past decade; she has made a few rare concert appearances over the last several years, including a headlining spot on this month's Rock the Bells tour.
