The barrage of new Linkin Park songs continues with 'Robot Boy,' a surprisingly thoughtful, uplifting new track from their album 'A Thousand Suns.'
A series of heavy-hitting piano notes set a somber, foreboding tone at first, but as the upbeat, vaguely world-music inspired rhythm section fades in things get much brighter. By the time the multi-tracked, ghostly vocals float in with their inspirational message, you'd almost forget these guys made their name by fusing rap and metal in new ways:
"You say the weight of the world has kept you from letting go / And you think compassion's a flaw and you'll never let it show / And you're sure you've hurt in a way that no one will ever know / But someday the weight of the world will give you strength to go."
This is the fifth song to be unearthed from 'A Thousand Suns,' which is due in stores on September 14. You can read about 'Blackout,' 'The Catalyst,' 'Wretches and Kings' and 'Waiting for the End' on our site as well.
