Lil Wayne looks at people around him with a critical eye, asking 'What's Wrong With Them' on a Nicki Minaj-featured track from his new album 'I Am Not a Human Being' (in stores Oct. 12, but digitally released Sept. 27).
Wayne's distinctively nasal, whacked-out flow orbits even higher above earth than usual on this track.
As the stuttering keyboards and stop-start rhythms pulse along in the background, he seems to be addressing the pressures of his life, a point made most clear when Minaj takes the mic for the choruses:
"You see money you call / Very few are chosen / You can feel them close in / Baby what the f--- is wrong / Wrong with them / What the f--- is wrong / Wrong with them?"
'I Am Not a Human Being' was originally going to be released as an EP to whet fans' appetites for the planned holiday season release of Wayne's next full-length album, 'Tha Carter IV,' with both records recorded prior to his current prison sentence. However, his manager recently told Spin magazine that 'Tha Carter IV' will probably not come out until 2011 due to the rap star's desire to record all new material for that project. Several songs originally intended for the album have now been added to 'I Am Not a Human Being,' which is now a full-length album.
Got all that? Good. Now head on over to AOL Radio's New Hip-Hop First station to find out 'What's Wrong With Them.'
