Despite his busy and successful lifestyle, Kanye West can't stop thinking about a past lover on 'Christian Dior Denim Flow,' a string-laden, seven-minute long song from his 'G.O.O.D Friday' weekly download series.
Deep, rich cellos mix with lively drums and cymbals as Kanye's distorted voice drops all sorts of fashion-industry names, apparently hoping to keep his broken heart distracted. It's not working, as singer John Legend notes on the chorus:
"I got the world in my hands / The master plan / But I don't know why I keep calling / Why I keep / All of these girls at my shows / They loving me but I don't know / Why I keep calling / Why I keep calling you."
As extended drums break, chugging rock guitar rhythms and a cappella sections take their turn in the spotlight, fellow rappers Kid Cudi, Pusha T, Lloyd Banks and Ryan Leslie all get a verse, pushing the song to epic lengths without ever threatening to make it boring or repetitious.
After many, apparently premature, announcements, Kanye has announced the "final" title for his upcoming album: "My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy." It is due in stores on Nov. 22, and will reportedly feature some of the songs West has released via his website over the past several weeks.
