The Damned Things, 'We've Got a Situation Here' -- New Song

'We've Got a Situation Here,' or so say The Damned Things, a hard rock supergroup featuring members of Anthrax, Fall Out Boy, and Every Time I Die.

The surprisingly fun-spirited track will appear on their debut album 'Ironiclast,' due this winter.

Somehow this unlikely combination of metal-heads and emo-popsters has found middle ground with a melodic, buzzsaw brand of classic rock.

The track features an insanely catchy series of distorted guitar riffs chasing each others tails, as lead singer Keith Buckley trades his usually manic screaming for more traditional vocals: "The situation / It's out of my hands / I'm in the crosshairs / Coming to get me!"

The band formed when members Scott Ian of Anthrax and Joe Trohman of Fall Out Boy met up at the insistence of their mutual guitar endorsement company's A&R representative, according to an interview in Noisecreep.

As they started developing new material together, they pulled in a member from each of their respective bands, then asked Buckley to join the band as well.

"Those guys are all influenced by all kinds of s--- all across the board. It definitely sounds fresh," Ian declares. "The energy of it is amazing and I'm dying for people to hear it."

'Iconiclast' is expected in stores on Dec. 14. You can listen to 'We've Got a Situation Here' on AOL Radio's New Rock First station.
