Top 40 Pop Chart -- January 2013

Swedish House Mafia jumped up six spots to claim the #1 spot on the first top 40 countdown of 2013. 'Don't You Worry Child' knocked off Ke$ha who had been #1 for the past two months. Ke$ha's newest single 'C'Mon' premiers on this countdown at #19 and also happens to be this month's highest debut. Justin Bieber was a close runner-up this month with 'Beauty and a Beat.'

Maroon 5 is beginning 2013 in familiar territory near the top of the charts. 'Daylight' jumped up 34 spots to #5. While Maroon 5 had the biggest jump, Nicki Minaj also started 2013 with a bang, jumping 26 spots into the top ten with 'Va Va Voom.'

While most artists jockeyed for position entering the New Year, there are still plenty newcomers from many of today's top musicians. Phillip Phillips' breakthrough single 'Home' reenters the chart at #30 while Austin Mahone's modern take on Biz Markie's classic 'Just a Friend' premieres at #31.
