1. When is the new AOL Radio player launching?

The new AOL Radio player will be available for listeners on July 23, 2013.

2. Will the old AOL Radio powered by Slacker still be available?

If you are uncomfortable with the new AOL Radio powered by Slacker, scroll down to the bottom of the player and look for the link that says "Looking for the old site? Click here" (NOTE: The old player will not contain any of the new features found in the new player.)

3. Do I need to sign up for a new AOL Radio account if I created one on the previous player?

No. The AOL Radio account you created on the previous player will work with the new player.

4. Is registration required? Does it cost anything?

Creating an AOL Radio account is free and does not cost anything. By creating an AOL Radio account, you will be able to store your favorite stations, songs, artists, albums and access them wherever you are on the web and our mobile apps.

5. How do I register for AOL Radio?

There are three ways to register for AOL Radio. Click on the 'Sign In' button on the top right hand corner of the player. Registration is FREE.

6. Will my AOL screenname work with AOL Radio?

Your AOL screenname will NOT automatically work with AOL Radio. You MUST register for an AOL Radio account for free using either your AOL email address or any other valid email address.

7. Do I need to reset my presets/bookmarked stations?

If you stored your presets and bookmarked stations on your old AOL Radio account, they will automatically work with the new player.

8. Will AOL Radio continue to be free?

AOL Radio will continue to be free for ad-supported users. Additionally, we are offering two optional paid subscriptions that will add benefits to your AOL Radio experience.

9. What are the two paid subscription plans? What are the differences between them?

The subscription plans offered are AOL Radio Plus and AOL Radio Premium.

10. How do I upgrade my account to AOL Radio Plus or AOL Radio Premium?

To upgrade to AOL Radio Plus or AOL Radio Premium, you must have a free AOL Radio account first.  (See question 5 if you don't have an account yet.)

Sign in to AOL Radio with your AOL Radio account and you will see an upgrade button at the top righthand of the player.


Click on the ‘Upgrade’ link at the top righthand corner to upgrade your account. You will be presented with a choice to upgrade to AOL Radio Plus or AOL Radio Premium. You must have a valid credit card. Purchases are made over a secure connection.

11. How do I cancel my subscription to AOL Radio Plus or AOL Radio Premium and return to free listening?

1. Log into the AOL Radio player with your account
2. Click on your AOL Radio account email address address in the upperright hand corner.

3. Select ‘Account Information’ from the dropdown menu.
4. Select the tab that says ‘Subscription Information’


5. In the ‘Subscription Information’ tab, select ‘Cancel Subscription.’ You will get a Cancel Subscription e-mail in your inbox. Please note that your account will be cancelled at the end of the current pay month.

12. How do I change my account e-mail address or password?

1. Log into the AOL Radio player with your account
2. Click on your AOL Radio account email address address in the upperright hand corner.


3. Select ‘Account Information’ from the dropdown menu
4. Select the tab that says ‘User Information’


5. Select either ‘Edit Email’, ‘Edit Password’ or ‘Edit Zip’ to change the corresponding field to which you would like to update.

13. I’m an AOL Radio Plus/Premium member. How do I get song lyrics?

To view lyrics for a song currently playing on the player, simply click on the song title in the Now Playing window.


The Music Guide will switch to the song information page. Scroll down to find the lyrics for the song if they are available to us.

14. How do I use the Music Guide? How can I find out more information about an artist, song or album playing?

Clicking on ‘Music Guide’ will send you to the main Music Guide window where we will feature any stations we’d like to highlight that week.

Whenever you click on a station, artist, song or album link, the Music Guide window will refresh to feature info about the station, artist, song or album. Station pages will feature information about the station including top artists, songs, station description and sharing options. Artist pages feature photos, biography and discography. Song pages feature song lyrics and stations playing the song. Album pages feature information about the album including album reviews and track listings. Premium members can play songs on demand from the album and add to playlists.

15. Where are my bookmarked stations and songs?

Bookmarked stations and songs are in the ‘My Music’ tab on the player.

16. How can I unfavorite or unban an artist/song?

To unban an artist from a station, click on the station name of the station you’re listening to to visit the station page.

At the bottom, there will be either a ‘Banned Artists on this Station’ and ‘Banned Songs on this Station’ tab. Hover over the song title and when the ‘Unrate’ button appears, click on the ‘Unrate’ button to add the song or artist back to the station.

17. How can I create my own custom station?

1. To create a new station, click on the 'Create Station' button at the top.

2. Use the Search Box to search for artists to seed into your custom station. Once you've found the artist, click on the ' ' icon to the right to add that artist to your station.

You can continue adding artists to your station by doing more searches.


3. Once you've added your artists to your station, hit 'Save' and give your station a name. When complete, hit done. You can always go back to your station and add/remove artists later.


4. To access your station, click on the 'My Music' tab to find a list of stations that you've created in the 'Custom Stations' tab.


To play the station, hover over the artwork and hit the 'Play' button. Or, to edit the name of your station or station description, or to add more artists, click on the 'View' link in the overlay.

18. How can I create a song playlist? (AOL Radio Premium members only)

If you're an AOL Radio Premium member, you can create song playlists and listen to them anytime you'd like on our web player or mobile apps. You can even download your playlists on our mobile apps for offline listening.
 

1. Click on the 'Create Playlist' button on the top of the player.


2. You will get a prompt to search for songs to add to your player. Search by song name and when you find the song you want, click on the " " icon to the right.

3. Keep adding as many songs as you'd like. You can even add full albums by searching for the album name. When you're finished, click the 'Save' button.
4. Give your playlist a name and hit 'Done.'
5. Your playlist will be stored in the 'My Music' tab.
6. To edit your playlist, hover over your playlist and click on 'View.'

7. In the Music Guide, you can rename your playlist, share to your friends, change the order of your songs or delete them. To change the order, drag and drop the songs up and down based on the order you'd like to place them.

19. What do the Fine Tune settings do?

The Fine Tune button (available on all custom stations and most AOL Radio stations) allows you to adjust stations using these criteria:

1. Related Artists (Custom stations only) - Add more variety by moving the slider to the right vs. keeping your custom station strictly to the artists you've chosen by moving the slider to the left.
2. Favorite Songs - Play more of your favorite songs (ie. songs you've "hearted") versus more variety
3. Popular Songs - Move the slider to the right to hear more hits or move the slider to the left to hear more deep cuts and unknown tracks.

4. Newer or Older Songs - Move the slider to the right to hear newer songs on the station or move the slider to the left to hear older tracks.
