David Cook, 'The Last Goodbye' -- New Song

Singer-songwriter David Cook has returned with a new single titled 'The Last Goodbye' from his forthcoming album, 'This Loud Morning,' which will be released on June 28. 'This Loud Morning' will be Cook's second major label album since winning the title of 'American Idol' in 2008.

Cook first revealed the title of the single on his Twitter account in March after months of anticipation from his fans for a preview of his next album. 'This Loud Morning' will be the result of months of hard work which features collaborations with artists such as John Rzeznik of the Goo Goo Dolls and Ryan Tedder of OneRepublic.

The lyrics to 'The Last Goodbye' read as a send-off to a broken relationship and an admission that things aren't working out. "I didn't want to lose you / leave you with a broken heart. But wherever we are / We're miles apart / I know that we tried / But this is the last goodbye."

Cook's powerful guitar riffs suggest however that despite the heartache, things are probably best for both of them.
