30 Seconds to Mars, 'Up in the Air' -- New Song

Virgin

30 Seconds to Mars has released their lead single from their upcoming album, 'Love, Lust, Faith and Dreams.' The song was literally launched 'Up in the Air' as it was made available for the first time aboard an International Space Station spacecraft. The single has now been made public, but first premiered on NASA TV and was first heard by astronauts of the Expedition 34 and Expedition 35 crew.

Although the release was pretty exciting, the song itself may excite fans more as they wait on the band's fourth album. The song is upbeat and contains a lot of electronic-rock elements, featuring more of a dance sound than they've had previously. It's the band's first album since a lawsuit was ended with the label EMI. The band has said it's a new beginning for them and 'Up in the Air' is indeed ambitious and a little different. Though some may consider the single too mainstream sounding, 'Up in the Air' is as hard-rocking as 'The Kill' and as emotional as 'Kings and Queens.' Yet, here the band sings about fallen love and tempting fate. "I've been up in the air/out of my head/stuck in a moment of emotion I've destroyed.'

'Love, Lust, Faith, and Dreams' is expected to be released this May. Following the album's release, 30 Seconds to Mars will begin a world tour. Listen to 'Up in the Air' right now on AOL Radio's New Alternative First.

Justin Timberlake, 'Mirrors' -- New Song

RCA

Justin Timberlake has been everywhere lately, from hosting a star-studded episode of Saturday Night Live, to appearing all week on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. Although these appearances undoubtedly showed off his acting, Timberlake has been promoting 'The 20/20 Experience' which was released on March 19th. 'Mirrors' is the second single off the album and is eight minutes long.

'Mirrors' echoes Timberlake's earlier solo work, as he has produced another mid-tempo love ballad. However, this song is more emotional than songs like 'My Love' and 'Cry Me a River.' 'Mirrors' shows more lyrical depth, as Timberlake is likely singing about his new wife Jessica Biel. He sings in a triumphant chorus that he is "looking right at the other half of me." The song was produced by Timbaland, who does a good job of mixing in synth-beats and light instrumentals. With these pop-friendly beats and Timberlake's high voice, 'Mirrors' sounds more modern than 'Suit & Tie' and may make fans remember his last album 'FutureSex/Love Sounds.' Ultimately, this may be the stand-out track on his new album and strong proof that the pop sensation is indeed back.

'Mirrors' is one of many songs on the album to be at least six minutes long. The album opens up with 'Pusher Love Girl,' another eight minute R&B track. 'Mirrors' has already topped the UK charts, becoming the longest number one single since Oasis' All Around the World' in 1998. Listen to 'Mirrors' right now on AOL Radio's New Pop First.

Afrojack, 'As Your Friend' (Feat. Chris Brown) -- New Song

Wall Records

Dutch DJ Afrojack has released his latest single 'As Your Friend' which was co-written by Chris Brown, who is also featured on the track. The two previously worked together on the Grammy-winning song 'Look at Me Now.'

Afrojack has quickly become a powerful EDM artist and he continues to release club-banging hits as he gets ready for the release of his first solo album. Afrojack, who is well known for many singles including 'Take Over Control' and for producing many songs including 'Give Me Everything' may have released his most creative song to date. The song makes use of upbeat and unique synth-heavy beats that at times sound like a re-mix of video game soundtracks. It'll be hard to stay off the dance floor for this one which is made more pop-friendly with the smooth R&B vocals of Chris Brown. Brown's hook is pretty catchy as he sings: "I used to be your man, but today I woke up as your friend."

Afrojack's debut album is currently scheduled for release sometime this fall. For now, you can dance along to 'As Your Friend' right now on AOL Radio's Fresh 40.

The Summer Set, 'Boomerang' -- New Song

Fearless Records

Pop-punk band The Summer Set recently released their new single, 'Boomerang,' off their third studio album, 'Legendary.' The band previously released the song 'Maybe Tonight' from the upcoming record.

The Summer Set name drops a bunch of different celebrities in this upbeat pop tune about love. The band, which has a sound similar to bands such as All Time Low, continues to grow and create hook-friendly hits. This catchy track is a great feel-good song for the spring and may help 'Legendary' become the band's biggest album. Lead singer Brian Dales told Billboard that 'Boomerang' is "about promising all of the most outlandish wonders you can for a girl that you love and never giving up on her. Our first record had a great sense of tongue-in-cheek lyrics and energy, and I think this song is a great representative of [The Summer Set] 3.0" The band shows off the energy with lines like "You look so good, I love when people stare. You on my arm tryin' to keep you there."

'Legendary' is scheduled to be released April 16th. You can currently catch the band on the 'Wake Up & Be Awesome Tour' which includes other bands including We Are The In Crowd and For The Foxes. Listen to 'Boomerang' right now on AOL Radio's New Pop First.

Demi Lovato, 'Heart Attack' -- New Song

Hollywood

Demi Lovato has released 'Heart Attack,' the first single from her upcoming fourth studio album. The song was produced and co-written by the Suspex along with Lovato and others.

The 'Give Your Heart a Break' musician has released another intense track, although this song feels more electric than her previous material. The electro-pop track is full of EDM, club-like beats and is powered by drums, a bass, and an infectious guitar track. Lovato's maturing voice is very strong here, especially in the chorus. The lyrics and intensity in her voice mirrors Kelly Clarkson and shows off her impressive range. 'Heart Attack' is undoubtedly her most passionate song of her young career and indicates Lovato is poised for a highly-acclaimed fourth album. The single is about taking the risk of falling in love. She sings in the song: "You make me glow, but I cover up/Won't let it show, so I'm puttin' my defenses up."

The currently untitled fourth album is due out some time in 2013. Her first three albums have all cracked the top five of the Billboard 200. 'Heart attack' indicates this time around will be no different for the 20-year-old. Listen to the explosive single right now on AOL Radio's Fresh 40.

3OH!3 -- 'Back to Life' -- New Song

Photo Finish

3OH!3 recently released 'Back To Life' off their long overdue album 'Omens.' The band has previously released 'You're Gonna Love This' and 'Youngblood' off the upcoming album.

The electro-pop duo's latest is a hand-clapping, uplifting track about re-building. The song's sound itself slowly works itself 'Back to Life' similar to David Guetta's 'Without You.' The chorus builds the song from soulful to shout-worthy and inspiring. Like in 'Youngblood,' 3OH!3 is preaching to the youth and has produced an up-tempo pop song that differs from some of their previous 'crunkcore' material like 'Don't Trust Me.' The duo sings the infectious lines, "Cause if the party is dead, we can bring it back to life. Yeah, we can make it through the night."

'Omens' will be the band's fourth studio album and is scheduled for release in June, the same month in which the band is scheduled to play at Warped Tour. While you eagerly await their return, listen to 'Back to Life' on AOL Radio's New Pop First.
