Adele, ‘Rolling in the Deep’ — New Song

Adele is done chasing the roads on “Rolling in the Deep”. The first single from her sophomore album, slated for release on Feb 22. “You’ll wish you, never had met me,” her back-up singers chant behind her chorus.

‘Rolling in the Deep’ is sung from the perspective of a scorned lover, who is finally able to see the light, but despite regretful sentiments, reconciliation is not an option here.

“The scars of your love remind me of us they keep me thinking that we almost had it all / The scars of your love, they leave me breathless / I can’t help feeling we could have had it all / Rolling in the deep / You had my heart inside of your head / And you played it to the beat.”

Adele is set to premiere the video in early December, and the performance on “The Ellen Degeneres Show”- Friday, Dec 3.

“I discovered lots of artists I’d never heard of, particularly Lady Antebellum, Wanda Jackson, Yvonne Fair, Andrew Bird, Allison Krauss, Neko Case, and Steel Drivers, who I fell in love with,” said the British soul singer about her upcoming album.

“Then we delved more from the artists whom I have loved forever – Sinead O’Connor, Kanye West, Elbow, Alanis Morissette, Mos Def, Tom Waits, and Mary J. Blige. And there is something in every single one of those artists that they have really inspired “21”.
