Comedian Aziz Ansari Shares His Playlist

Aziz Ansari
Actor/comedian Aziz Ansari -- also known as Tom Haverford on NBC's 'Parks and Recreation' -- is AOL Radio's guest blogger this week, sharing his most recent music playlist. Ansari recently released his first DVD/CD titled 'Intimate Moments for a Sensual Evening', which is available on Amazon and iTunes.

Each month I make a playlist of songs I've been listening to a bunch that month. It's a pretty handy trick and leaves with you with good playlists that kind of remind you of whatever you were up to at that time. So, here are 10 tracks that were on my December/January edition.

All building up from least to most played...

After each track, I've recommended something to do while listening to the record.

'Come On'

[It] really puzzles me why I never hear this song more when I'm out and about. If you don't know it, it's the Stones first single and was a cover of a Chuck Berry song.

Recommended: Great for listening to while licking cake mix from a bowl.
The Rolling Stones Singles 1963-1965
'Can't Get Over You'

The Vivian Girls combo of shoe gaze meets '60s girl group is undeniably catchy. Case in point.

Recommended: Speeding down the highway on the way to buy some mangos while depressed about some girl/boy who doesn't like you back.
Vivian Girls Everything Goes Wrong
'Deadbeat Summer'

One of my favorite tracks of '09. Get familiar!

Recommended: Eat a weed caramel and then try to convince your neighbor to invest in your new business idea -- a DVD player that always has two DVDs in it -- 'Terminator 2' and 'Die Hard.'
Neon Indian Psychic Chasms
'Shake Your Coconuts' (DFA Remix)

DFA remix's are money 100/100 times. Heard this song being DJ'd and checked to see what it was. I wasn't up on it, but now I am.

Recommended: Dancing at a bar in LA and telling a girl you want to take her out to eat lunch at Whole Foods sometime.

Junior Senior Shake Your Coconuts
'Wasted' (Feat. Lil Wayne, Jadakiss, and Birdman)

Props to my little brother Aniz for turning me on to this banger.

Excellent guest verses as well.

Recommended: Clean your apartment and bop your head up and down real fast to the beat.

Gucci Mane The State Vs Radric Davis
'How Low'

Luda is back in top form. Also worth checking out is 'Everybody Drunk as F---.' Random side note: Luda is a huge foodie I think. I've seen him at Sona and at Bouchon. Luda, let's food it up!!!

Recommended: When you're trying to figure out how low you can put in a new shelf unit in your living room. Pretty sure that's not what Luda's talking about in the song, but whatever.

Kudacris How Low
'Renaissance Rap' (Remix Feat. Busta Rhymes, Raekwon & Lil Wayne)

Ok, the beat on this track was kind of on Q-Tip's album, but it was just at the end of 'Move.' I always loved the beat and my brother Aniz came through again and turned me on this remix that is ALL that beat AND has sick guest verses from Wayne, Busta, and Raekwon. Wow.

Recommended: Riding a snowmobile and eating a carne asada burrito.

Q Tip The Renaissance
'Be My Girl'
Smith Westerns

These dudes are like 19 years old or something crazy. Listen up, and feel like a loser other 19 year olds.

Recommended: Driving a pickup truck to get some fried chicken and baked macaroni and cheese...

Smith Westerns
'In My Room'

A classic. In heavy rotation just cause.

Recommended: Get sad about something, grab a roll of pre-made cookie dough, sit in your bed, and eat it.

Beach Boys Surfer Girl
'Silver Soul'

My favorite track off my favorite album of 2010.

Recommended: Invite a girl over to your place and throw this jam on. Wait 'til the right moment and be like "Hey you want some potato chips... or maybe a little of this---" and then start making out with her.
