'Beyond Our Suffering' -- a new song by San Diego-based metal outfit As I Lay Dying -- gives eager fans their first taste of the new album 'The Powerless Rise,' which is due in stores this Tuesday, May 11.It's been three years since As I Lay Dying's last album, 2007's 'An Ocean Between Us,' which reached No. 8 on the Billboard 200 album charts. The band spent much of the next two years on the road further expanding their loyal following before releasing a career-chronicling DVD set, 'This Is Who We Are,' in 2009.
As with each past record, fans can expect continued evolution in As I Lay Dying's sound, with more melodic, backing vocals and guitar leads, specifically lead singer Tim Lambesis' gruff singing style and the band's pummeling drum and guitar attack.
As I Lay Dying is already touring across the U.S. in support of 'Beyond Our Suffering,' and later this summer they will headline the first-ever Cool Tour festival with fellow metalheads Underoath and Between the Buried and Me.
