'Take a Load Off' is the second single from Stone Temple Pilots' 2010 self-titled comeback album, which is the recently reunited band's first studio record since 2001's 'Shangri-La Dee Da.'
The heavy psychedelic pop influences that appeared on some of the band's best past work remain firmly in place on this upbeat, compact rocker.
Melodic guitar and bass figures constantly circle each other as prodigal son and lead singer Scott Weiland takes on the role of someone who seems to feel taken advantage of in a relationship: "Give you all those diamonds / Give you more and more / Shattered all those lies I bought you / From the record store."
Stone Temple Pilots are currently on tour in Europe, and will return to North America in August for a series of concerts. Their new single 'Take a Load Off' can currently be heard over at AOL Radio's New Rock First station.
