The guitars switch from soaring, melodic lead lines to solemn, arpeggiated notes in this song about a moody and dynamic rumination on lost love. Lead singer Matt Tuck seems eager to move on from this relationship: "Take the ashes from the floor / Bury them to just make sure / That nothing more is left of me / Just bittersweet memories."
Tuck recently told Guitar Edge magazine that after straying from their natural sound a bit on 2008's 'Scream Aim Fire,' the band was determined to be true to themselves while recording 'Fever': "The main objective was to please ourselves rather than pleasing other people and critics. We wanted to go into making this album as innocent as you do making your first record, with no expectations and no pressure."
Bullet for My Valentine will begin a massive US tour this September. While you're waiting for them to visit your town, you can listen to 'Bittersweet Memories' on AOL Radio's New Rock First station.
